We, the Suzuki Association of Wisconsin, are teachers, parents, students, and friends dedicated to supporting each other and spreading the life-enhancing joy of Suzuki music-making. Living primarly in Wisconsin, we support and encourage each other in this joyous journey!
We love the confidence, poise, and self-discipline Suzuki training establishes in our children. Too, we love the deep connections we build with our children and each other in meeting the challenges and sharing the fun of the Suzuki adventure.

“Our mission is to provide inspiring, high-quality learning experiences for all three sides of the Suzuki triangle – students, parents, and teachers. We also nurture deeper ties among the Wisconsin Suzuki community.”
How do we accomplish this?
In January, we meet in Madison for a Student Winter Retreat in even-numbered years. In 2020, we were inspired by James Hutchins, Tanya Carey, Suzanne Baker, and Eunjin Lee, and our Wisconsin teachers! Activities included pool parties, pizza parties, and an ice cream social. In odd-numbered years, our teachers take a turn for recharging, inspiration, and new insights with a Suzuki teachers retreat. In 2021, Gregg Goodhart gave us a lot of great ideas on how to practice efficiently and effectively by learning how the brain works.
In July and August each summer, we meet at the American Suzuki Institute for a day of networking, observing, and conducting the business of our association. The Institute is kind enough to give us a free day of observing superb teachers working with our students. A great opportunity to steal some ideas for home joy!
Sensei Leadership Award We honor Suzuki Association of Wisconsin members who have greatly contributed to our community. At the 2022 Winter Student Retreat, we honored Patty Ladpli with this award. Thank you for all you've given to our community, Patty!
