UPCOMING VOTE FOR SAW BYLAW CHANGE AND SECRETARY POSITION
There will be an upcoming vote for Suzuki Association of Wisconsin members to change the bylaws of the organization to require membership to the Suzuki Association of the Americas in order to be a member of the Suzuki Association of Wisconsin. This requirement will take action starting in the membership year 2018-2019. This change in bylaws will further our efforts to gain Suzuki Association of the Americas Chapter Affiliation.
There is also an election for the SAW board secretary, which is currently an open position. The Suzuki Association of Wisconsin Board Secretary is an elected board member. The duration of the position is 3 years, at which point a new secretary is elected. The secretary is responsible for taking minutes at the SAW meetings, held every summer at the American Suzuki Institute in Stevens Point, WI and every other year at our student retreat. The secretary then posts these on the SAW website. Other job tasks are helping to update the website and managing the Facebook page and any other social media outlets the SAW may take on. The secretary also maintains communication with the other board members and votes in board decisions.
If you would like to join the SAW board as secretary, please contact any board member. Thank you!
